Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14th in 1980) was an American actor, singer, and dancer. Early Broadway parts included Wicked Legally Blonde & Hair. The role she played in You Can't Take It With You as Essie Carmahiel was rewarded with an award for the Tony Award in Best Featured Female Actor in the Play. Annaleigh is a collaborator on projects with award-winning directors as well as actors and producers throughout her career. Ashford is next seen opposite Kumail Nannjiani on Robert Siegel's Hulu Limited Series Welcome to Chippendales premiering November 22. Ashford is engaged in the production of Searchlight Pictures' horror film Dust with Sarah Paulson alongside Ebon and Moss Bachrach. The film will be available on Disney's DTC platforms and will be available as a Hulu Original. Ashford is set to return in 2023. He will be starring opposite Josh Groban at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre to perform the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail as director and Jeffrey Seller as producer will form the team of creators for the show. Ashford has been seen most recently in the role of Paula Jones in Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment. This show is based around the National Crisis which put Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp as the central figure in the country's First Impeachment Proceedings in Over a Century. She starred in two seasons of the hit CBS comedy B Positive. The show was written by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. The show also featured Ben Vereen and Hector Elizondo. Additional Broadway performances includes Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and the lead role in Lauren in Kinky Boots a performance for which she also received a Tony Award nomination. Ashford lives in Los Angeles & New York. Her birthplace was in Denver and was raised in Denver.
