Jones' portrayal as Stephen Hawking's spouse in the biopic, which was based on his life was applauded by critics as well as the public. Inferno was her second film, which starred Tom Hanks. In the year 2016 the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Los Angeles named Jones to be the British Artist of The Year for her contributions and talents to cinema.
